How do you see the Public Gallery in the future, and why?
Luke Rowley
At the moment, the Gallery only displays Artistic art and Vendors ads, because the initial idea was to have an enjoyable experience while browsing it, as a gallery art.
However, a few feedbacks have been made regarding it, and I'm looking at ways of how it would be the best possible, for everyone.
Do you mind taking a moment to explain what would be your perfect experience in the public gallery for you, and why?

Thank you everyone for participating in this! Right now, there are many needed features but, once those are done, I will make sure to come back to this thread and take all your feedbacks for the Public Gallery. <3

As a new app i think its great so far. A way to organize your own photos would be great and separate galleries for the ads and advertisements so they are not in with the artistic pictures.

Wren Ravenwood Primfeed looks very primary and as a really poor app, needs alot of work even to compare it to flickr or instagram, i give it till December..

I would love to be able to see what I've saved and I'd really love to be able to organize all that into folders. At the moment when I save something it simply vanishes back into the scrolling feed, probably, never to be seen again. This makes Primfeed unusable for shopping for myself (and maybe others? I know I have some friends who shop like this on Flickr).
I'd also love to be able to separate my feed as vendors and people, would be great to have a separate tab for blogs.

I would like to see the classification system extended for not just maturity but also content i.e. blog feed, product ad, event, photography. As it is I feel the gallery will become overwhelmed with advertisements of one sort or another. And of course a search system that would allow filtering of that content so the member could see say all blogs or products or events or photography.

WeeWillie Wylie +1!! It would be so nice if I can categorically browse the images!!

A ♥ heart button on the thumbnails to make it easier to like the pictures (also add the like feature on double click). I drew it for better visualization.

I agree with many of the points made by others. I would love the gallery to have:
- The ability to separate ads from artwork
- The ability to filter by maturity rating
- The ability to filter by topic or tag or type. For instance: decor/fashion/artistic etc
-No limitation on how far down you can scroll
- Arrows for previous and next when you click on an image so you can just view the next one and the ability to like and comment and move on to the next photo instead of having to go back and click several times; Also ability to like without having to zoom or go to photo screen
- It might also be useful to have the ability to search within a certain time period. Otherwise you will never see older photos
- Filter friends vs non-friends
- At the moment I find it a bit confusing that there are three different feeds but not much clarification what is what exactly, especially on the app where there is no name for each type

I personally think having a single catch-all public gallery isn't ideal. It would be nice to have a few different types of galleries that can be navigated easily.
- An artistic gallery without any advertisements or promotions.
- A vendor gallery for creators and store owners.
- A promotional gallery for event advertising and giveaways.
When you upload a photo you should be able to choose the appropriate gallery. There's no reason for whatever you're posting to go into multiple categories. For example: General SL photography and blogger photos would be considered artistic. New releases and product updates would be in the vendor gallery. Event announcements, giveaways and designer/blogger searches would all go into a promotional gallery.
I would like to mention, while we're on the topic of galleries, that there is a limited scroll enabled with both the gallery and discovery. I have already submitted a bug report for it. Limited scroll keeps you from seeing everything people have shared. There should be a "load more" option so you can see more of what people have posted. Otherwise newer uploads continually cover up the previous ones, and no one gets to see them. What's the point of that?
That's my ideal view of a gallery experience I'd like to see here. Everyone will have their own opinions, and I may be repeating the same concepts others have already proposed. Thank you for the opportunity to share our personal views on something YOU created. ♥

Absolutely provide filters for ad/non-ad content. Those are two very different browsing experiences and people want both, but when mixed together it becomes frustrating.

Personally, I think stores should use a separate gallery, tag, filter, something to allow people to browse through what they want to see. Gallery is synonymous with art - I think that's what a lot of people expect. However, if there were a way to differentiate between the two types of graphics and their purposes, I think people who are looking to build their network based on their art would have a more enjoyable experience.
As a store owner, I know that if I participate in an event, my poses will be used by the event bloggers, ads will be posted by me and the event coordinators. That's multiple copies of the same thing and when people see that in the feed it gets annoying.
Primfeed is posted as the Flickr replacement platform for SL. It really should have a design more like Flickr if that's the case - and maybe that's coming. So, maybe the gallery (or a new place) could be where you go to find groups for specific art purposes. It's a menu of groups for art and ads that allows people to find what they want to see. Paying members to Primfeed can have one or two groups they manage and this allows people to network where they want to be.

A gallery view option that is closer to a Flickr gallery than the Twitter media tab would definitely be nice, especially with tags etc. to help folks find specific content.
The thing I would love the most is the ability to organize custom feeds and galleries when viewing. That way I could make a feed that I could add my favorite stores to, another feed I could add just my friends to, etc. Groups on Flickr made it a lot easier to have access to pools that kept advertisements and virtual photography separate, even though your main feed would be a mix of everyone you follow.
Currently the limits on editing posts is also going to cause a lot of re-posting of the same content that will cause advertisement spam.
