Unable to add a photo to a new post

FIXED: I had to reboot the computer twice, but it's now working.

Since about two days I am unable to select a photo to add to a new post. I click on the camera icon but nothing happens. Really nothing. Not even a flicker or an error message.

MacOS 13.7.8 on a Mini M1
