Image resolution

I just have notice the upgrade notice and the perk to have images up to 8k, I think it's great but it disappointment me to have a limitation of 1k for non subs since on other platforms we are able to upload the original quality or only up to 4k, I would like this to be reconsidered if is possible and at least to be able to upload to 2k or 4k.
