While a follow button is great, I am not just going to follow someone without looking at there images first. I may not like the subject matter, or they may be posting a lot of AI, or it is a store I don't care about. I'd like an easy, fast way to see who is not following me yet, and see their feed.

Would love more transparency too with followers. Just implement it similar like twitter, mastodom bluesky etc.

I was going to add this to the feedback page, but you beat me to it. Your comment below is what I was looking for in terms of feedback -- having a way to indicate if a person is following you or not. Just like most social media and image sharing platforms, you get a lot of "social climbers" that mass-follow people for a day then remove you. It would be nice to see follows and who does not so we could have the option to remove followed people like this.

I would also really love the follow tags to be more visible when viewing user lists either from a page or your own follower list, without having to hover over the user icon

Also having it say beside the name if someone is following you, kinda like twitter (it would also be useful to have it in the following & followers list):
