Fav contacts or notification button for specific contacts

I'm not sure if anyone has suggested this already, but would it be possible to have a notifications button on each account's profile that we follow and can be activated when we want to know when a contact uploads a new photo or post? Or something to add contacts to "favorite contacts"… whatever, but something to give priority to some contacts that we follow and that we may lose among so many others…
