Control who comments

It would be nice if there was an option to control who comments on your posts. As in, only allowing followers to comment. Right now, anyone can comment, even if they don't follow you and it allows for harassment from people making alts just to remain anonymous.

Seriously, how is this not a feature and why do we need to request it? There are people getting harassed, me for example. Cannot report, cannot disable comments.

I am a bit late to party and I dont know if someone didnt already mention it in some of the merged threads (considering its year old), but I would suggest little adjustment to the Chrissie's idea.

Bad actor can just hit the Follow button, i.e. to become "follower" and can comment in the next second, if the setting is "only followers can comment". The action if they follow or not is on their side, does not really protect much the account owner.

One of the (not many) things Flickr does good way is setting "only allow comments from people you follow". Unlike "allow comments to followers" this setting is under the account owner control.

I think its ballanced middle ground between comments disabled or allowed for all.
