I would suggest to keep the names with secondlife in sync and not allowing to change them as i love the feature that you can find secondlife resident easily via primfeed. Otherwise i could use twitter. So it would be nice if you use the same format for naming like in SL: Display Name (name.surname). You login with the name in brackets.

I'm somewhat concerned about having no way to hide my SL identity.

On Flickr I enjoyed having the peace of mind of posting pictures of teasing/alluring nature without having to deal with people trying to contact me in-world (you know what I mean…).

This will likely be a deal-breaker for me and likely force me to limit the nature of the pictures I'll be sharing on this platform…

Luke Rowley Please consider allowing folks to use only a nickname / opt-in to showing their actual SL name if preferred. As long as Primfeed admin/staff have access to actual usernames I don't see a reason they should have to be displayed if users prefer to keep some privacy.

Wouldn't it be possible to remove the “Resident” from those of us who don't have a surname in Second Life?

I agree with this, I personally feel exposed when my username is seen, perhaps there could be an option to keep it private at the user's choice (just to maintain registration and login) and be able to put an alternate name, too that the name that links to the profile could be modified.

I have suffered harassment situations in SL, so I prefer this to be kept hidden, it can be optional.

ZeCthiaZe Resident This is totally reasonable to me. Folks should be able to choose to only show a nickname if they prefer. There's no reason for anyone other than Primfeed admin to know your username unless you opt-in to showing it.

If you give display name options PLEASE leave the username as part of the profile that you only see when you intentionally go to their profile. Not being able to find a person in world to invite to a Blogging team, to an event, to not know who they are in world to be able to reach out is very difficult and has always been an issue with other platforms. People may not realise they have possibly missed a lot of opportunities because there is no clear connection between the two, and people won't run around all over trying to work it out - I do, but I am extra.

That this is not already a feature is a gross oversight.

As Kasur already said, many of us dont go with system name but with display name. And not just inworld, but on other social media too.

For example - I never identified myself as the default "Resident", so pls let us to hide that too, I am sure I am not alone with that. Its not shown inworld for majority of users anyway.

Luke Rowley It says the legacy name 'will still show'. What about those of us whose legacy name is wrong? That was my main concern. There are also people getting harrassed in world because their particular art style is risque and their legacy name is visible. That doesn't help them either. This feels like a bandage, not a fix.

Caspian Morningstar You can visit Primfeed's mainstore and use the kiosks on the left to update your legacy name :)
