Would love it to be possible to have events go on longer then 12 hours, with the ability to set an start and end day so venues that host events over weeks are possible.
(EDITED on 28th of October) I add to this for more information, Discord and how their server events are done is pretty much how i picture it handled, included are picture of Discords event format for those not familiar of it.

How long exactly do you wish events to run? Please specify. A few days/weeks/months? What kind of events? Sales? Shopping events? Parties?...

Moon Beerbaum hello there!, with my SL background in running a small railway, we host events up to a month+ sometimes, but also knowing of shopping events like Collabor88 and Fantasy Farie could see it being handy where vendors or others could share when those events are open and running.

ZenriaCo Resident, interestings thoughts, thanks for sharing.
Looking at shopping events, their main business happens the first 2-3 days until the next events start. And most of them are on Seraphim and a few other sites. So, for me, their opening date could be interesting to post on Events, with a poster stating the runtime, perhaps a reminder after 2 weeks, because everyone knows that there is Seraphim. Creators and bloggers already advertizse new products and where to find them.
Same could work for you: Open an event and a 2nd after half the time. Same could apply to gallery exhibition openings.
Question is, what does qualify as an "event"? Usually an event - at least in RL - is something that runs for an hour or two, or a few hours, not for days, weeks, months. Same with the events calendar in SL. So, the term can be confusing and means so many things in SL. And even if it could be set to 4 weeks duration, it will be all down the event feed, even if it ran so long.
Much to discuss... 😊
