The Evolution of Second Life Photography

It's funny how quickly "AI" gets thrown around these days.

The reality is that almost everyone in the Second Life photography community edits their images in some way. Photoshop, Lightroom, Topaz, FaceApp, AI upscalers, generative fill, color grading, sharpening, depth of field, skin cleanup, lighting adjustments... these are all tools. They've become part of digital art.

The goal isn't to erase the Second Life aesthetic. It's to present our avatars in the best possible way while still looking like our avatars.

If someone enjoys posting raw screenshots, that's completely valid. If someone enjoys enhancing their images while keeping their avatar recognizable, that's valid too.

The conversation shouldn't be "Did you edit it?" Most of us do.

The better question is: Did you stay true to your avatar, or did you create an entirely different person?

There's a big difference between polishing an image and replacing the subject altogether.
